Two polar opposite films enter the holiday fray, both have a lot of shouting. Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of “Little Women” and the Safdie Brothers’s “Uncut Gems” are up for review this week.
Greta Gerwig gracefully helms this modern adaptation of “Little Women” that is worth checking out over the holidays. Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Timothee Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Eliza Scanlen, Bob Odenkirk, Tracy Letts, and Chris Cooper star.
Meanwhile if you want to be screamed at by unsympathetic characters for 2.25 hours “Uncut Gems” is for you (but it certainly wasn’t for me). Adam Sandler, Idina Menzel, Kevin Garnett, Lakeith Stanfield, The Weeknd, and Julia Fox star.
