“Judy” ends up being a hollow film with a glossy shell, this film makes it look like there wasn’t much to the woman behind the curtain.
I think this film would have been much more successful if it fully committed to exploring Judy Garland as a symbol as opposed to an actual character, as the portrayal of her ends up being a hard to watch over exaggeration. Renee Zellweger, Finn Wittrock, Jessie Buckley, Rufus Sewell, Michael Gambon, Royce Pierreson, and Bella Ramsey (all hail Lyanna Mormont) star.
