Thor: Ragnarok, A Bad Moms Christmas, LBJ

I’m excited for the return of “Thor: Ragnarok”, slightly less excited for “A Bad Moms Christmas” as it’s only the first week of November, and finally there’s the middling “LBJ.”

I’m delighted at the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Director Taika Waititi brings the fun back to the “Thor” movies. Cate Blanchett as Hela and Jeff Goldblum as The Grandmaster are excellent additions to the universe, but overall Marvel still has a villain problem (read more about that here: goo.gl/wu37uy).

“A Bad Moms Christmas” brings the holidays on way too early (a Nov 1 open for a Christmas movie? Come on, what happened to Thanksgiving? goo.gl/hQWL8i). However adding Susan Sarandon, Christine Baranski and Cheryl Hines as the mothers to the moms played by Kathryn Hahn, Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell respectively was a brilliant casting move.

Finally there’s the Rob Reiner directed LBJ starring Woody Harrelson (in some questionable prosthetics) and Jennifer Jason Leigh. A middling entry into cinematic history.
