This week’s review is “Bridget Jones’s Baby” – the first film, “Bridget Jones’s Diary” is one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies. I will watch it any time it’s on TV. The second one was a disaster that I even tried to find and rewatch before this and was thwarted as it appears to have been pulled from the internet (short of spending $15 to buy it which I wasn’t willing to do…)
I was so pleasantly surprised by this movie! Perhaps because I had such low expectations going in? I appreciated that the characters had matured at least a little bit, and that the humor wasn’t all slapstick.
I am going to have to point one thing out that didn’t make the audio review… Renee Zellweger’s expressions. Ouch. She tries to repeat the cutesy character expressions she made in the first but whatever has happened since the first film…. Oy vay. Her muscles just do not seem to want to cooperate so it makes for strained expressions and a sometimes painful viewing experience.

That aside I had a very good time at the film. They want you to be #TeamDarcy or #TeamJack but I am definitely #TeamEmmaThompson. Go see it for her part as Bridget’s Doctor alone.
