Golden TV and Character started off AAPI Heritage Month with a celebration of talent from across a bevy of fields and the diaspora itself.
Held at The London West Hollywood and hosted by comedian Helen Hong and journalist Gene Kang, the event honored the following participants for the following achievements.

- Ally Maki, Founder and CEO of Asian American Girl Club- Community Builder Award
- Thai Nguyen, Fashion Designer – Design and Culture Award
- Vicky Tsai, Founder of Tatcha – Toyota Call Your Shot Award
- Albert Yang, CEO of Din Tai Fung North America – Cultural Game Changer Award
- Lisa Ling, Journalist and Media Personality – Global Impact Award
In Ling’s speech, which closed out the night, she summarized the spirit of the event. Reflecting upon this year being the 250th anniversary of the United States and struggle of Asian Americans through it’s history:
“We are no longer asking permission to exist. We are claiming power. We are claiming space. And we are claiming history. We are running Asian American Girl Clubs and we are not going anywhere. And the next 250 years of American history will not be written without us.
