Writer, director, composer, and songwriter Geremy Jasper’s feature film debut, Patti Cake$, was released by Searchlight Pictures in 2017 to critical acclaim. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to play at the Cannes Film Festival, SXSW, and opened the 46th Annual New Directors/New Films festival at the Museum of Modern Art.
Jasper was nominated for a DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in First-Time Feature Film and an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Film for his work on Patti Cake$. Jasper wrote and recorded all of the original songs which went on to be shortlisted for the Academy Awards®, and the album was released by Republic Records. Jasper was included in Variety’s 10 Directors to Watch in 2017.
Jasper has directed award-winning music videos including a VMA-winning videos for Florence + The Machine and Selena Gomez. His work on the Target “Kaleidoscopic Fashion Spectacular” won a Cannes Golden Lion, TED Prize, and was inducted into MoMA’s permanent collection.
